Job Description:
Food Prep/Cashier Staff at SV are responsible for:
Setting up and maintaining station with materials and supplies.
Breaking down and cleaning equipment.
Stocking and replenishing condiments at service stands.
Ensuring that all food preparations are in accordance with established recipes, menu and portion specifications, and in relation to business volumes.
Performing food prep duties including cutting, slicing, dicing and proper storage of fresh foods utilized in prep of menu items.
Performing cooking duties and related production functions.
Ensuring a high food quality level that meets standards and performing daily spot checks of all portioning tools.
Providing daily documentation and recording of product spoilage.
Greeting guests and upselling; preparing individual food items to the specific instruction of each guest.
Following established safety standards using safe food handling guidelines and cleaning and sanitizing counters and fixtures in the kitchen and service area; maintaining a clean work area in accordance with established standards; ensuring compliance of the State of Illinois' food handling program.
Cleaning and sanitizing tables, chairs, counters and fixtures in any dining area in accordance with established standards; following established daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
Operating a cash register, following cash handling procedures by properly processing cash and credit card transactions, traveler's checks, and discounts.
Verifying starting bank and ending bank/profit.
Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policies, procedures and training.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform the role of a Food Prep/Cashier Staff successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
Food prep/Cashier experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to respond to common inquiries from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
Ability to pass a background check, if 17 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
Meet scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
Ability to pass local/state required certifications for proper food and or alcohol service.

The individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the Food Prep/Cashier Staff job.
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
